Rest & Reset: Restorative Yoga with Live Music and Hands-On Adjustments

Fall 2023 Dates Coming Soon | In Person | Back Bay Yoga Union

Treat yourself to a restful and rejuvenating evening of Restorative Yoga, live acoustic music, and hands on adjustments. This 90 minute workshop led by Amanda Wood offers a chance to settle in, unwind, and ease into the weekend with calm.

Amanda will lead the class through a series of restorative yoga poses, each designed to help you rest, relax, and connect to a deep sense of stillness. If you’re new to restorative yoga, it involves resting for extended periods of time (often between 2-6 minutes) in yoga poses with the support of props like blankets, bolsters, and blocks. With the support of the props, you’ll begin to release effort in the poses, allowing your body to rest and your mind to observe subtleties of the breath and the moment.

Joining Amanda will be Jay Wood – an accomplished bodyworker and Studio Manager of Back Bay Yoga Union – and a local musician from the Greater Boston Area. While Jay and and Amanda guide students through class and offer hands-on adjustments, their musician of choice will serenade the group with live acoustic music.

Please note that it is not required to receive adjustments during this workshop, merely an option. Consent cards will be used to help participants convey their preference in regards to receiving adjustments. Whether you’re interested in adjustments or not, this workshop will be a wonderful opportunity to lean into rest.

If you have questions about this workshop, the nature of restorative yoga, or the hands-on adjustment aspect of the session, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
